DESCRIPTION:November 25-26 \nAge Groups: \n3rd-6th Grade\, 9am-10:30am \n7th-8th Grade\, 9am-10:30am \nOur volleyball holiday camp is intended to cover every skill of the game of volleyball for your young athlete. This camp is for beginners as well as for those that have been playing for several years. Here is what will be included: \nServing: Footwork\, armswing mechanics\, building confidence\, working on core power\, jump serving for advanced players. \nHitting: Introduction to approaches and transitions\, armswing mechanics\, jumping for height and power. \nPassing/Defense: Proper technique and footwork\, controlling where the pass goes\, and moving quickly to the ball. \nSetting: Introduction to setting techniques and proper hand contact on the ball. \nGames: We will be playing small mini-games each day to utilized the skills that have been presented. This can be serving games\, short-court games\, wave-through and rotation games.

SUMMARY:Advanced Hitting/Serving HS Camp
DESCRIPTION:November 25-26\,   11-12:30 PM \n9th-12th Grade (Limited to the first 10 athletes to register) \nIf your athlete is an advanced player who is looking for extra skill specific training in the area of hitting and serving then this is the camp for them! Emphasis will be placed on the following skill specific elements: \nHitting: \n\nProper approach footwork mechanics that will lead to consistency and momentum building.\nFocus on proper power jumping techniques to get players to their most efficient vertical heights.\nTransitioning from passer to attacker in a fluid motion while building momentum.\nLearning how to hit with power by properly engaging the core.\nHigher level hitting techniques and plays: running quicks\, slides\, shoots\, tipping and roll shot training.\n\nServing: \n\nServing to score mentality.\nBuilding up more power and velocity in the serve.\nPlacement of the serve into specific zones on the court.\nHigher Level Serving: Working on consistency with jump serves as well as short ball serving.\n\nFor all AYSA camps\, emphasis will be placed on repetition\, technique\, maximum efficient mobility\, and proper mechanics.

Here is what will be included: \nDribbling and Finishing: \n\nstationary ball handling\nball handling in motion with a defender\ndribbling sequences\nfinishing against any defender in the paint\nhow to finish through contact\n1 on 1 game play\nFUN games for the skills covered!\n\nShooting: \n\nIncrease your shooting accuracy and range\nImprove the speed of your release\nCreate separation so you can always get your shot off\nTrain in a way that helps you get better faster\nBuild and protect your confidence\nMaster the shots all great scorers need in their toolbox\n\nPassing/Defense: \n\nPractice different passes and learn when to use each one\nLearn techniques to help stay in front of offensive players as they drive to the basket\n1 on 1 game play\n\nGames: We will be playing small mini-games each day to utilized the skills that have been presented. SUMMARY:Hot Shots League
DESCRIPTION:Monday Evenings \nOct. 28th -Dec. 9th   \nBoys/Girls-Age Groups 5-6\, 7-8\, 9-10\,11-12  \nThursday is a possible playing night. \nThis is a progressive\, practice/play league. The first 20 minutes of each Monday will allow time for a team practice followed by games. This progressive approach allows for young players to build their fundamental skills of passing\, shooting\, rebounding and defense\, while also learning strategies of the game through league play. Players will register as individuals and will be placed on teams by AYSA staff. \nThe first night of league\, Monday October 28th\, will be just a practice for the team!! \nTime slots will be sent out closer to the season start time. \nEach player will be given a jersey. Volunteer coaches are required for this league. Please contact us at info@abileneysa.org if you are interested in coaching your child’s team or a team in general.
